SITUATION & CHALLENGE
Payroll administration for the Swiss companies was outsourced to an external provider and processed directly in the client’s own system. The client wanted to test whether an equally capable provider could take over payroll – at comparable or lower cost, with a seamless handover at the turn of the year and without putting any of the ongoing salary payments at risk.
APPROACH
We gathered the requirements and evaluated the provider market in a structured way – weighting criteria, assessing options in a utility value analysis and condensing them into a transparent decision basis. Once the provider was chosen, the transition followed: target processes, interfaces, data migration, test payroll runs and a fallback scenario to protect the deadline. We ran the project across defined milestones with continuous controlling, through to handover into operations.
OUTCOME & CLIENT VALUE
The new provider was selected and payroll transferred on schedule – the first payroll run went exactly to plan, salary payments continued without interruption. The project closed under budget, at markedly lower running cost; the fallback scenario was prepared but never needed. The project management and the decision basis came from Desigon, the choice of provider stayed with the client.
