Project management and support for site evaluation, fit-out and relocation, coordination of external partners
SITUATION & CHALLENGE
Relocating production freed up a large share of the existing rented space. A new site for offices and the laboratory had to be evaluated first, then fitted out and occupied – within clearly defined targets for cost, schedule and quality. What was needed was an approach that justified the choice of site transparently and safeguarded operations across both phases.
APPROACH
We supported the user requirement planning and ran the site evaluation over several months – weighting criteria, assessing options in a utility value analysis and condensing them into a decision basis. After the site decision came the fit-out: we set up the project, coordinated architect, site management and trades, and aligned the space concept with the interior partner. Only then followed the move, run against defined milestones; schedule, cost and quality we steered throughout.
OUTCOME & CLIENT VALUE
The fit-out went to plan, and the move led from a traditional office building spread over many floors into a modern, cost-optimised open-space area on two floors – with virtually no interruption to operations. The project closed within the target triangle: on time, on budget, on quality. The evaluation and the decision basis came from Desigon, the choice of site stayed with the client.
