SITUATION & CHALLENGE
A construction group with several operating companies under a holding roof had grown over many years. Systems, interfaces, data storage and processes had each developed differently in every company, and nowhere was there a consolidated overview. The executive board wanted to bring the group together and advance its IT, but had no reliable basis on which to do so.
APPROACH
We mapped and visualised the IT and process landscape systematically – systems, interfaces, infrastructure, data storage and responsibilities across all companies. In structured interviews with the executive board, finance, IT and HR we gathered requirements, target expectations and weak points, and consolidated them across stakeholders. In parallel, we produced a concrete recommendation for one urgent area, so that the analysis delivered tangible value early on.
OUTCOME & CLIENT VALUE
Within a few months, a transparent, documented overview of the entire group’s IT and process landscape existed for the first time – systems, data ownership and the requirements gathered. This gave the group a structured basis for harmonisation and IT strategy that can be continued at any time. The analysis and the structure came from Desigon, the strategic decisions stayed with the executive board.
